Kuoth Wiel is a South-Sudanese-American model and actress, best known for her role in The Good Lie (2014), a drama film portraying four child refugees from war-torn Sudan.
Kuoth Wiel was born to a South Sudanese mother, and father in Itang Ethiopia where the family had escaped to. In 1993 she lost her father to the war in Sudan and in 1998 immigrated to the United States at the age of 8 years. Kuoth lived in Faribault, Minnesota for most of her childhood.
She attended Augsburg College Minneapolis, Minnesota. Her passion of acting came into fruition when she became a fashion model.
During her senior year of college, she landed her first movie role in The Good Lie in which she plays a lost girl called Abital Deng. She graduated from Augsburg College with a degree in Social Psychology in the Spring of 2013.
